As a DJ/producer, Apiwe Bubu creates and connects South African drum rhythms, grooves and sounds infused with Contemporary music. He spins the newest hits of Amapiano, Gqom, Afrobeats, Hip Hop, RnB and Top 40 chart music to his audience. Part of his influence stems from Jazz, 90's Deep House music, Funk, to Bossa Nova & East African music.
Having traveled and collaborated with different artists and DJ's across the world, he has acquired a distinctive style that contributes to his particular DJ performances, selection and love of music.
Now based in Los Angeles, - Apiwe Bubu implements a unique DJ style and events that introduce and connect the African sounds of Amapiano, Afrobeats & Afro-House as well as Hip Hop & RnB with the Angeleno’s.
On a usual weekend you’ll find him in LA bars such as The Library Bar (Downtown LA), St Felix (Hollywood), or Mama Shelter or doing a private function ranging from celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Sofia Reyes or corporate & private events, and/or club nights/parties at Los Globos or The Resident DTLA. He established dance parties Move Your Body, Afro Sonics, Jaiva99 and Amapiano Lifestyle Saturdays under his flagship multi-media brand Amaginsta e'Vybe.
AMAGINSTA e'VYBE is a multi media brand and movement based on the sound & music culture of South Africa. The objective is in defining and creating a space in Los Angeles for the Afro & South African sound - expanding it across the US continent and the global scene. Our focus is to promote the music of Southern Africa and the rest of the African continent. We are music activists who have had the privilege of DJ'ing and curating events in Hollywood and around Los Angeles.
AMAPIANO LIFESTYLE SATURDAYS is the latest party series curated by Amagintsa e’Vybe. This widely known event takes place every two Saturdays of the month and showcases unreleased and known Amapiano sound tunes via his eclectic mixes and features international and LA's top DJs.
